Conclusions

Well hopefully that's the end of my Efudix treatment. My appearance is now almost back to normal and anyone who doesn't know me would never realise how bad I looked two weeks ago. If you can compare the picture taken on day 22 with that on day 35 you can see how great the transformation is.

My main conclusion about the treatment is that, in my case, it was not anything as bad as I had expected. Having said this my appearance became pretty bad but I probably only had two or thee days of major discomfort, and I do mean discomfort and not pain. Severe irritation is probably a better way of describing it. At no time during the period did I have to take pain killers and even the itching and tenderness of the skin was never so severe that I had to contact my doctor.

At the beginning of my blog I suggested that it may have been a mistake doing so much research on the internet as I was getting the impression that the treatment would be very unpleasant. I hope that anyone who might stumble on this account of my experience with Efudix will be slightly reassured that the treatment could well be not as bad a it looks.

Day 35

Day 14 Recovery.

Well as you can see my skin is now back to almost normal. There is still a little extra redness where the Efudix cream was applied but not so much that it is really noticeable.
It is now 5 weeks since the start of my treatment so this is the last of the daily photos I am going to post. In the next couple of days I will post my conclusions on the treatment.

Day 34

Day13 Recovery

I am almost back to normal now.  Still a little redness in the face but not too much. I will make my last daily post on this blog tomorrow which will be 5 weeks since the commencement of my treatment.

Day 33

Day 12 Recovery

Pictures are perhaps getting a little boring so I thought I would have the little dog join me again today.
As you can see the scabs have now almost disappeared and I am once again getting to look a bit more normal!

Day 32

Day 11 Recovery

Another daily improvement. Still a little red but the scabs have almost disappeared and the dryness is improving.

Day 31

Day 10 Recovery

As you can see getting better by the day. Skin is still very dry and a little flaky, but I'm using plenty of moisturiser so hope for more improvement soon.

Day 30

Day 9 Recovery

A further improvement today. The scabs under my eyes are much better without the Nystaform ointment, but my forehead does not appear to be improving as much as before, it is still very dry and flaky so I have given just this part of my face another application.
